THE NEW MOON IN TAURUS

On May 11th, 2021 we will have the new Moon in Taurus, the most feminine sign of all, since it is not only the place where the Moon is exalted, but also the sign Venus/Aphrodite rules, the planet of love and creativity.

Venus/Aphrodite is said to be a goddess of the Middle East, Syria or Phenicia and is therefore related to the Sumerian goddess Ishtar, the Babylon Inanna or Phoenician Astarte and for the Mesoamericans with Quetzalcoatl and Kukulkan for the Maya. Aphrodite resorts to cosmesis (all the ornaments she uses to fix herself and whose name comes from order – cosmos) are her weapons for the war of love. Among these weapons stand out – the creams, “the ointment that grants immortal beauty”. 

It is said that her name comes from “aphros” which is foam, hence to date champagne, bathtubs with foam, take us back to loving celebrations.

In Cyprus there are the Spas of Aphrodite and in Paphos there is a cave where according to the legend and tradition of the country the goddess took her baths because it was fresh water and pure outpouring from the heart of the mountain. This water is attributed miraculous effects, according to which he/she who gets wet with it will gain eternal youth.

The mirror, symbol of Venus has a relationship with the Ankh Cross of the Egyptians which is the symbol of life. The cross or crux ansta represents the masculine in union with the feminine, the truth – the fertile union of the union of man and woman, this is the gift of this deity – Emblem of Life. Venus discovers herself through the mirror, symbol of the woman and the feminine.
