CRUISES RETURN TO THE MEXICAN CARIBBEAN

The ship’s horns sounded and the crew’s skin crawled, they were ready for a new beginning, the blue watercolors of the Caribbean Sea have been waiting for them for months, finally this June 12th from Nassau, Bahamas, the Royal Caribbean International, with its ship Adventure of the Seas, will set sail for the island of Cozumel.

With clear enthusiasm and a broad smile, Pedro Hermosillo, Director of Tourism of the Mexican island expressed his joy at the announcement of this upcoming arrival, which is expected to anchor on June 16.

“We are very happy because Cozumel is the first port of arrival for cruise ships in the Mexican Caribbean to be reactivated after a 14-month suspension in the navigation of cruise ships used by tourism,” said the also leader of the island’s Economic Development department.

Lovers of long trips on the high seas will arrive to the Mexican Caribbean in just four days; but not only this ship is expected, Cruise Saudi is also set to join the reactivation of sailors to this destination.

Carnival and Mediterranean Shipping Company, would also be anchoring their vessels at Mexico’s largest island in the coming weeks, obviously following the protocols that have been adopted due to the Covid-19 pandemic, among which one of the requirements is that passengers must comply with a complete vaccination against the virus.

The calm and vibrant emotions are worthy of tourists traveling to Cozumel, as this is one of the destinations in Mexico that have the Safe Travels seal, recently issued by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC)

Thousands of Americans are anxiously awaiting the reactivation of these maritime activities, since for them the suspension ends until June 31, so perhaps it will be early July when they can enjoy these trips, either with a cocktail in hand, exploring the ship’s attractions, or relaxing in the sun.

Of course, this is no time to stop being careful, tourists and locals should continue following the prevention measures against the pandemic that has afflicted the whole world: mandatory use of face masks, constant use of antibacterial gel and / or hand washing with soap, healthy distance and temperature filters at the entrance and exit of the port.
