[VIDEO] Cozumel: The return of the giants; cruise ship in sight
Quintana Roo, Mexico.- The morning was quiet, clouds filled the sky and the atmosphere was a little sad, because the sun’s rays did not illuminate like other days, suddenly in the distance we began to see something approaching, those who did not know the news moved closer to see if what was clear to the eye was true.
It was a cruise ship, to be exact it was the Adventure of the Seas of Royal Caribbean International, which was approaching one of the most important cruise ports in the world, the sadness disappeared immediately, everyone took out their cell phones to capture this historic moment, because it is not just any other cruise ship arrival, it is the reactivation of tourism for the island of Cozumel and of course for Mexico.
After 15 months of not receiving a single cruise ship, the beautiful and crystalline waters of Cozumel, a banner with the phrase “Welcome back” and the characteristic sound of the mariachi loco, welcomed with good rhythm all the happy passengers who came down to have a wonderful stay in this magical place.
During the last months we have been working on the development of measures to take care of people’s health and lives, and in spite of being the first cruise ship to arrive after the pandemic, the sanitation protocols continue, that is why all the crew members and 95 percent of the passengers have already been vaccinated against covid, and also the state of the shipping companies was monitored.
It was last June 12 when Royal Caribbean International’s Adventure of the Seas set sail from Nassau (the capital as well as the commercial and cultural center of the Bahamas) to navigate for 4 days in the sea and reach the island of Cozumel this Wednesday, June 16, bringing back hope to all Mexicans who had sadly said goodbye to this tourist sector that was taken away from us by the Covid-19 pandemic.
